Was wanting a new Tundra so I could tow a 22' RV camper. I paid $36k for my 4Runner brand new.

The local Toyota dealer offered me $40k trade in on a double-cab Tundra SR5 in Army Green. Only problem is that the Tundra is $48k. When I bought my TR4, the Desert Tan Tundra SR5 next to it was $33k.

$15k price increase in two years?

No thanks. I'll hold on to my trusty 4Runner for awhile at those stupid prices.

Agreed. I was offered $45,000 for my 2019 TRD ORP with 18,000 miles. This has been the only regular vehicle I have owned that has appreciated in value. I will hang on to it.

    Is that a 4WD Tundra? V8?

Shop around for a better price on the Tundra. You might get a little less for the 4Runner, though.

I can't imagine how any dealer could sell a double cab Tundra for $33K. That's like Tacoma pricing.

It's only appreciated due to the shortage right now. Won't last forever unfortunately.

I'm looking forward to seeing the final product! Turbo 6 sounds pretty awesome.

Yup! If I were looking to trade I would do it now. You can almost always get a discount on a new car. But, these trade in values probably won't last much longer.

Literally the only reason why I am waiting to see if my order was accepted on a new 4Runner.

If I can get out of my GX for close to what I paid, before I have to do tires/brakes this summer for the first time, that's a win lol

Pinstripes, lots of em. Plus a couple dents.
Stopped in my not so local Toyota dealer yesterday, they had 0 Tundras, 0 4Runners, 0 Rav4's, and 4 Tacoma's.
The lot was almost as empty as it was when Covid 1st kicked off a year ago.

I might downsize my camper a bit so the 4Runner doesn’t have to work. Just love the 4Runner too much. 32221CE0-2123-4D9C-9B2B-5868A08D6E97.jpg

I had the bug in January and test drove a 2016 Platinum Crewmax with 65k miles. Very nice trucks and the price was still more than what I paid on the 19 4Runner.

Very interested to see the new model debuting but holding out until at least 2025 before a purchase and hopefully could have both :)

With my experience my kiddo didn't have much space in rear with the double-cab. I would highly recommend you look at crewmax Tundra.

Even with 4.7v8 SR5 (I think now there's only offer 5.7 v8 option) I was frequently re-fuelling. So check that you get the 38gal fuel tank and not the 26 gal one.

Apart from Tundra's I'm keeping my eye on the trend where lot of manufacturers are bringing in small turbo diesel engine. Even the Yukon Denali is coming with 3L Turbo Diesel. Even though I'm not a fan of gas turbo engines I love turbo diesels.

Exactly my question. Really interested to see the scale slip when this is loaded (including water, food, etc..)

Same here. We have a '94 Ram 12v & '04 F-250 6.0. On a trip to Wyoming the Ford got 24mpg! Not bad for an 8,000# vehicle.
I do not like what the EPA has done to diesels.
