I previously had a TRD OR, and I had read that it was a good idea to occasionally put it in 4H, for a mile or two, if you didn’t use the 4WD system that much, which I did when it would rain. Now I have a Limited, which basically has an AWD system, but it also has the H4L and L4L. My question is, should I occasionally put it in H4L, or is it not needed since it has the H4F? Thanks.

I'd do it to exercise the shift actuator.

That makes sense to me too.

I put it in H4L now and then to keep the juices flowin' and now and then in L4L. Same reason. Can't hurt ... I don't think. FWIW, I live in a rural area with a lot of gravel (hah) roads to get home. Our "gravel" roads are basically talcum powder with a few rocks thrown in to beat the sh_t outta yer rear flairs and great for tryin' to keep a black vehicle sorta clean. But then, I digress.

    +1. Exercise that center locker.

Good call! A lot of us probably don't exercise 4lo as often as we should.
