    Greetings to my new T4R friends. I'm a longtime T4R owner, with my current (third) being a 2016 Trail with a ToyTech lift. I bought it post-lift, and noticed recently a variance in the height of the wheel well between the rear tires. Specifically, the right rear sits about 1" higher than the left rear. Can this be corrected via an adjustment? Or was my lift incorrectly installed? Apologies if this is a re-tread, but I could not find an existing thread...

    We need a little more info from you to give you a proper solution.

    Do you have KDSS?

    Do you know if you have spacers in the rear? Are they the same size?

    If you don't know this info, it would be helpful if you took some pictures of your rear springs.

    1 inch sounds like little too much. This is my measurements after installing ELKA on my TRD ORP (no KDSS);

    Jake - many thanks, and my apologies for my incomplete information. Here are some details:
    1. No KDSS
    2. I am unsure of the spacer setup, but I do know that he installed a 25BOSS-4R210P kit, with Boss 2.0 performance rear shocks, HD superflex rear coils, and a Toytech rear aluminum bump stop kit.

    assuming it has identical size spacers or equal length spring lengths, 1” is a lot. It may be an install or torque issue.

    Thanks Daytona - I've got an appointment scheduled next week with a local lift installer. I'm hopeful they can repair or adjust it.

    In the absence of resolving it, is the disparity in height a significant concern beyond the appearance?

    You can also call Hugo at Toytec on 303-255-4959 ext 106 and check the expected measurements to you can cross check with the installer.
    (No I do not work for ToyTec, I'm only a customer.)

    I don’t see any spacers there, so my guess is either it was installed incorrectly, or one of the springs is sagging, badly.

    nice rig though aside from that!

    I would start from the beginning. Take out the springs and see if they are identical

    Thanks for this. I agree with @Mtbpsych that it could be a saggy coil. It happens. If this is the issue, worst case scenario is you spend a couple hundred bucks on new rear coils (plus installation).

    Another thing to check:

    -Check your front suspension heights and see if those are level. Some people adjust for lean by adding a little extra lift to the drivers side. It's possible they tried to compensate for lean and added lift to the wrong side.

    Your spring may be installed incorrectly on the spring perch or perhaps moved out of position when fully articulated. Other than that, it probably indicates a spring failure.

    Mine is the same way - from what I have read, there is a common 1" driver's side sag on many 4Runners. You fix it with more pre-load on the front spring and a shim for the back spring. I have a King lift with Toytec HD springs in the rear.

    It is well known from the posts I have read...along with mine being approximately 1" off on the driver's side - front and back, which support what I have read. My Kings are set on the front identically as well as the rear.

    Thanks so much for all of the helpful information! Quick update: I've gotten in touch with The Toytech Whisperer, Hugo, and he's helping me. It sounds like I've got an exaggerated case of the "drivers side lean" but not sure why yet. He's asked for me to provide the part numbers visible on the rear springs, as that's what he's thinking may be the root of the issue. I've also got an appointment at my local shop who has experience with Toytec.

    I have the same issue with mine. It’s a new install and I was told the same thing, normal 4Runner thing and or gas tank. I’ve noticed that when I go over bumps I hear a loud clunk. It’s like there’s something locked up in the rear. I have a appointment with a local installer to see what the issue is. I’ll post what they find.

    Quick update on my situation: my driver's side rear Toytec shock was bad - leaking, to be specific - which I learned when I took it in for leveling. Hugo at Toytec helped me out, and gave me a discount on a new Aluma series set. They arrived quickly, and after install, my local shop was able to get it really close to level. They also swapped out my SPC ball joints, which were also bad. I threw on some DOM sliders from RSG last weekend, and now it's time for some fun! Please feel free to reach out with questions.

    Glad you got it taken care of. Another good review of Toytec.

    So.... what's the measurement now? A bad shock shouldn't affect lift height in the rear at all. I am skeptical.

    Hey Koukimonster - in addition to replacing the rear shocks, my local shop was able to adjust the height on the front coilovers. That combination resulted in significant mitigation of the drivers side lean. I do not have the measurements in front of me, but post-repair, there is nearly no discernible difference between the driver and passenger height any longer.
