So figured I'd share. Was stressful finding the right rims and tire size and what setting to put my new shocks at . Hope this helps someone down the road if they go with bilstein.

Anyhow . Leveled the front end with bilstein 6112 . The heavy duty spring version . Ended up putting the lock rings at the lowest setting and is pretty close to level. And this rig has kdss. 1/8 inch high in the front but hard to tell. With a new front bumper should be exactly level . Went with black rhino wheels primm with zero offset at up to 275/70/17 bfg ko2s..

    Cheers

Yea was gunna lift the rear a bit that way I could lift the front more to fit 285s but with the kdss it was gunna be a little more of pain so left the rear stock. Happy with it though. Tires filled out the wheel wells better than I thought

Looks great! But seems like your frame now has a negative/reverse rake.

Thanks. It's very close to level . Hard to measure but with just using a tape it's about 1/8 inch higher in front. Hopefully the new heavier bumper will take care of it . If not I'll have to mess with the rear

Looks good! A slight reverse rake isn't the end of the world, but you might want to adjust your headlights. Also, if you tow or haul often, you could end up with a Carolina squat look. :D

Lift doesn't really clear tires. It just hides the rubbing until you flex the suspension.

There are plenty of lifted 4Runners with KDSS here, including mine.

Thanks . Haha yea not towing with this little gutless v6 .. I'll leave that to my tundra ..

And explain how a lift doesn't help clear tires though ?? definitely helps. Backspacing is huge but surely a little height helps from what I can tell???

Mine tows just fine. Don't exceed the weight limit, keep it in S4 and keep it under 65. Of course it doesn't pull like a V8, but it's just fine for lighter trailers.

Again, lift doesn't help. It just hides the rubbing.

Rather than beating a dead horse, I'll let this guy explain. Fast forward to ~8:00, or watch the whole video for some great information.

Btw, backspacing is a less important consideration than offset, as offset is ultimately what determines where the tire will sit in relation to the hub.

Tomato, tomahto. You can't change one without affecting the other. 8" wheel, change the backspacing, the offset follows suit.

You can if you're comparing wheels of different width. That's why it's better to go by offset, IMO.

So you didn't have to use any aftermarket uca's??
Also, if you raise the rear, can you get away with just a block, or do you need the springs as well??
New to the 4runner suspension, but thanks in advance.
    Your runner looks good!!!

You may or may not get a response...OP was May of 2023, hasn't been seen since.

No idea what the OP did about the rear, but a 1/2" or 1" spacer would have done the trick.
