If anyone wants a level stance for their 5th gen... WITHOUT using spacers.. here's what I did and its perfect. From Wheelers off-road, I ordered a set of Bilstein 6112 front struts, and I paid for pre-assembly. The settings I chose were drivers side #4 and passenger side #2 (this corrects for driver side lean). The struts come to you assembled and torqued ready to install. I was nervous those settings would be the perfect settings for just level .. but they were dead on. After installed... rear measurements remained 20.5" (center of wheel to wheel well) and both fronts are now 20" (previously 18.5") So the rear is still 1/2" higher but by eye it looks exactly level. And on top of that, the ride is so much better, body roll in turns is virtually gone and nose dive when breaking is much improved. This isn't the cheapest route to level your 4runner ... but its how I went and its an all around upgrade both visually and functionally. I keep looking out the window at her.. standing level.. and its just how it should have came from the factory imo. Oh.. almost forgot to mention, the alignment was easily achieved.

I’ve got a pretty good eye, but I’ve never noticed the drivers side lean on my stock 4Runner.

it’s my understanding that people experience the lean once the stock suspension is changed out for something aftermarket. Perhaps the stock struts have the the weight difference accounted for ‍♂️ ? Wheelers suggested doing the different settings on the Bilsteins, and I guess they were correct because driver/passenger side are identical on the tape measure.

When I was looking at Bilsteins as an option, I saw that they recommended front strut settings to account for lean. Sounds like you nailed it, good job.

I agree, you nailed it. Looks great.

Did you put Bilstein shocks on the back?

Looks good. That's the strut I'd go with too so this is good info to have.

I want to thank you for this post as it may be exactly what I want to do ... at least for a while. Although, can anyone tell me if I put some 21 trd pro front suspension on my OR would it sit similar to this or would it be raked and lopsided hahaha

With the Pro suspension you will have slightly more rake than this set-up but you won't be lopsided. Pro shocks are offset to compensate for the lean.

Thanks brother! Found a guy selling a set of fronts with 5k on them and am contemplating it.

That is a perfect looking level! Only downside to a perfect level is when you put cargo or people in the rear you end up with a reverse rake/nose up stance. I think it's always good to have a minimal amount of rake to counter balance added weight. On the flip side you may never use the cargo area and never ride with passengers. When I leveled mine I went with a minimal amount of rake. Maybe a 3/4" difference from front to back after level. Just a thought to throw out there...

yep. For my 6112s with 600 lb springs, driver side was on clip 6 and pass side was on clip 4.

I had my front spring that was an inch higher on the drivers passenger side but rotating the spare around the vehicle and back to the original location behind me without doing the brakes which was only 18 bucks so I think you got ripped off I was aligned
