I’ve been lurking, reading and learning a lot, and I finally have a reason to post. I recently purchased a new to me 2016 trd off-road with 18k miles on it on Monday. I haven’t even gotten the chance to really go over the truck yet. I did crawl under the the truck last night just checking things out and found a slight what looks like oil leak coming from one of the t case bolts. I’m still on the first tank of gas, haven’t used 4wd or anything yet... also should note that the truck was purchased from a Honda dealership, if that matters with warranty or anything. I know I at least have 6 months or 6k miles. But idk if this would be covered by Toyota at all. Figured I would just post here real quick since I found this thread and see what you all thought. Btw I did search, and nothing comes up for a leaking t case.

I think you should be covered under warranty, but someone with more knowledge will chime in soon. Welcome to the forum.

Thank you, I’m pretty positive I am covered under warranty, but to be honest, I’m kinda weary about a Honda dealership working on a Toyota. Plus the dealership is 2 hours away from me so I’m trying to reduce the amount of times I go back there lol. Also, I was wondering if anyone knew if it would still be covered under the toyota warranty? I looked and I believe their basic warranty is transferable you to 36 months or 25k miles. Obviously I’m at 36 months, but I wonder if they would make an exception. I’m sure it’s just a bolt that needs to be re torqued, but I just wanted to have the dealership take care of it and document it, god forbid it’s something worse and I need a new t case or something.

If you are still under the 36 month Toyota delaership should cover it. Honda dealership should cover it too with theirs also.

If parts are needed though Toyota probably has it while Honda probably has to go get it.
