Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
Emma from LASFIT contacted me a while back about a discount in exchange for a post about my experience with the trunk and backup lights. I've lived with them for a while, and here are my thoughts.

Note that I did get a discount on the lights, so while I wasn't paid for a review, that did happen. And while I can say all I want about how the discount didn't affect my opinion, I can't prove that to you, so it is what it is. Having said that, I'm not afraid to call a spade a spade, so take that for what you will.

First things first, the backup lights. They're fine. I guess they're a bit brighter. I didn't go crazy putting a brick on my brake pedal while walking behind my 4Runner while it was in reverse to see the lights for myself. I pretty much just installed them while the sun was out, asked my dad if they were lighting, he said yes, and then I went back out when it was dark and tried them out some more. I went to a dark area and left it in reverse for several minutes. I didn't notice any flickering which is good news. I did this a couple times a couple weeks apart to make sure they were holding up over time. Besides that, they're just nicely functional backup lights that might give you some more light but won't change your life. At least they're super easy to install, only requiring you to pop an interior panel on each side to access the lights, perhaps pulling a little slack of the cable though you'd probably do this with stock lights anyway, and not doing anything crazy like removing the light housing, while also being what should be long lasting LEDs so you may never have to deal with them again.

While the backup lights are good, the trunk lights are life changing. The stock lights were weak. These LASFIT LEDs are awesome! I've been doing Friday night RC car racing at the local hobby shop, and dealing with my RC car stuff has been a little annoying since it's hard to see in the trunk at night. At least, that's how it was! Holy crap, these new LEDs change that big time! They're even good in low light conditions that aren't completely dark yet. Toyota should have included these lights as stock because they're that good. And due to the nature of how the lights are positioned behind you, you might block the light, but since there are two lights you can usually reposition yourself so you can get enough light from the other side to make your life easier.

Note a few things I highlighted in the pics that ought to make your installation go more smoothly.

Here's a link to where you can get the lights: https://www.lasfit.com/products/h11...ulbs-custom-made-for-2014-2020-toyota-4runner Note that it's not $500+ for these lights. The page just starts off as showing the full set of all of the lights you could buy for a 4Runner. Click on the part that you want, and the price will change. I'd say the price of the back up lights is fair. The price of the trunk lights is particularly good, and considering how much I like them I'd say they're a fantastic deal.

The 4Runner specific LED headlights for 2014 to 2020 4Runners are also very good. This isn't a review of those lights. I already said my positive piece on these lights which is why Emma contacted me in the first place, but I can say that I have been very happy with them since installing them nearly two years ago. They're expensive, but I've never found myself regretting the purchase. Instead, I've found them to be very useful in the mountains of upstate New York where they don't have street lights and just useful in general here in Central New Jersey.

I received a similar email from them awhile back saying they liked my posts and wanted me to try their products for free.

I figured it was a scam so I deleted the email.

Unsolicited emails are a red flag for me but I’m glad it worked out for you.

Everything checked out when I went to buy the lights, so I had no problem with it.

Darn I wish I had that email when I bought my lasfit. Maybe they will reimburse me and I will do a whole video on them. I spent close to $1000 between my wife’s van and my 4Runner. I got every external bulb replaced with lasfit bulbs. Man what a difference it makes on a dark road in the middle of the country.
