KYB question

    Read several threads and looked on web but no answer found. I know these will be stiffer than OEM but will they help reduce braking nose dive??? Mostly on road driving so don’t need high end off road shocks. 4Runner is a 2021 that is leveled with front spacer only. Do not plan on lifting.

    Its all in the valving of the shock. You need a digressive valve style shock. Stiffer at slow speeds, softer at high speed. Either a twin tube ( stock style) or mono tube like a upgraded performance shock. KYB makes good shocks but Im not 100% if it will solve your issue depending on which model you choose.. The best bang for your buck would be a Bilstein 5100 at about $100 a piece. Its a digress valve which will help eliminate the nose diving, yet rides pretty comfortable. It also is height adjustable so if you want to ditch the spacers, you can set it when you install it to your desired height up to 2.5 inches of lift and all the stock components will work with it.

    I opted for the Eibach Sport adjustable struts & shocks in lieu of a front spacer. Mine is set at the .85 lift in the front. All is well - better than oem, and doesn't break the bank. The rear shocks were not 'needed' per se, but if replacing the fronts, why stop there?

    Sorry, it doesn't answer your KYB question, but at least gives you another option.

    I changed some lights, tires and tinted windows...mind blowing huh
    are you pretty happy with the ride on them? I've thought about changing but in hesitant to get something and have the ride become stiff

    If the ride stiffened up any, I could not tell - my wife is always commenting on how well the 4R ride is...I did see a noticeable lessening of the nose dive effect due to the Eibach struts. My 4R has KDSS, so there wasn't really any noticeable body lean in turns, with or without the Eibach struts/shocks.

    My goal was to level out the truck without using spacers, and the lessening of the nose dive was an unexpected benefit.

    I read a ton of reviews on Bilstein and Eibach, and I kept running across Eibach owners who had switched from Bilstein, and were glad they did. That's not everybody, but I was convinced enough to go with Eibach.
