Hey guys, I have a 2014 Toyota 4runner Limited with a thunking sound over smaller bumps that seems to be coming from the drivers side front tire on the road. I had it in at a Les Schwab earlier today for an alignment/ tire rotation and asked if they would take it on a drive to see if they could hear the sound. Manager jumps into the truck and took it for a ride and confirmed with me he could hear the sound as well. They put it up on the lift and said i had a loose heat shield underneath the drivers seat which he tightened and said that was probably the culprit. I got in and started to make my way home, noise is still there. Any ideas what i should check next? The noise is super irritating.

    Update:
This noise ONLY seems to happen in temperatures below 50 degrees Fahrenheit. It got up to about 70 degrees here in Denver Colorado the other day and the noise was completely gone. Temps dropped down to about 40 in the morning on my way to work and the noise was back.

I had a similar noise, it turned out to be the sway bar bushings.

On my 05 Tacoma there was a broken shock. Couldn’t tell until I had it pulled out to check

Holy cow! That seems way premature for that.
