Need advice on reprogramming my key fobs. Both have new batteries but can’t open the back hatch or roll down the back window from outside the vehicle. Can only start the vehicle by placing the fob by the start button. 2015 Toyota 4 runner limited. Thanks.

Welcome. Are you sure that the batteries are the issue? Sounds like the new batteries are not working either. Maybe they are installed backward or a connector is broken?

Just for background info - the fobs were working before, and performed the functions mentioned? If so, why the battery change, unless it was determined to be 'time to do so'...

Standard procedure if batteries are low/ dead in a fob is to have to put it close to the start button in order to start the vehicle. I'd check your batteries.

Do the fobs unlock the doors?
    Did you change the batteries?
Are the batteries installed the right way up?
    Are the batteries fresh?

Thanks for all the advice. Turns out there is a setting on the navigation/radio screen under settings that was turned off. Thanks again!
