I’m getting my bilstein shocks on fronts Nd back and adding 2 inch spring coil to back with new UCA. Just got a call from mechanic that the KDSS system will ha e to be disabled. Is that correct?

i had to disconnect kdss on passneger and losen driver side when i installed 1inch spacer kit. Be careful what he meant by disabling, i learned there was a way to change the pressure of the hydraulic system and i didnt want to mess with that so i unscrewed nuts and bolts instead.

Key point made above - what does the shop mean by 'disabling'? The sway bars may need to be disconnected, but nothing needs to be done to 'disable' the KDSS system, per se. That's a whole other can of worms, you don't want to open.

    Maybe find another shop...?

Correct me if I am wrong but by replacing the shocks, UCA, and coils in back, you can actually remove the KDSS as it is no longer used. Or cap off all lines and leave it in? Or am I confusing it with XREAS?

KDSS is a basically a hydraulic sway bar, it has nothing to do with those other components.

XREAS is a hydraulically link dampeners in the corners. You can replace with regular shocks and it wouldn’t be used, but it has nothing to do with controls arms and springs, just dampeners.

Hes an idiot if he opened up the KDSS system.

Pray he just disconnected the sway and put it back.
