I had a Bilstein lift installed with 6112s in the front and 5160s in the back. My 4Runner has KDSS. The installer set the front springs set at different heights. I was told this was done pursuant to Bilstein's instructions for KDSS vehicles. I was unable to confirm this on the site or a general Internet search. Can someone please confirm this is correct?

your installer didn’t get it right. ring landings for kdss 4runners are supposed match each side. the printed instructions that come with the 6112s states it along with the pdf on bilsteins site.

Yep that's what I thought. Thanks for confirming.

They can fix this first thing in the morning. One spring is set pretty high...at about 3 inches. There's a lot of information out there about about 3 inches being too much for KDSS. This issue will be fixed within 48 hours of the lift being installed. I'm hoping that the KDSS won't be negatively effected by this.

FWIW, I have 6112's set to the 2.3" (I have the heavy spring version) height adjustment and no issues after over 75K lifted miles. I think this is a good spot for CV angles as well.
