I had my OEM head unit repaired about 6 weeks ago. I had not used the factory navigation app since. Today I tried to use it and it couldn't find my location. The GPS showed me a couple miles from where I really was. I entered a destination. When I tried to navigate every few seconds "bitchin betty" just kept saying "proceed about two miles" and my location on the screen didn't change.

The Nav Sys wasn't part of the repair, (the screen went wacky, see my earlier posts).

So I wonder if the GPS antenna didn't get hooked up. I don't want to tear the head unit out unless I have to. Software is up to date and sd card is installed. Any thoughts?

I would see about updating it first since it’s a 2015

The software and the sd card are both the latest version.

If by upgrade you mean an aftermarket head unit I can't spare the cost right now.

I seldom use the factory nav unit and never off-road. I find it difficult to use compared to an Android phone or tablet w/ google earth and a mapping app. But I would like it functional as a back-up to my back-up.

I would guess that yes, the antenna connection is not good or is disconnected. This is not an unheard of problem and the symptoms relayed by others who have had it and traced it back to the loose or dc'd antenna are consistent with yours.
