So I was struggling with a way to mount my bike internally. I didn't want to use a hitch mounted rack for a few reason, but mainly the ability to have a secure place to store it if I wanted to go into a place. I tried a few ways but every way seemed like the bike was barely secure, so I came up with this below.

I purchased a Rocky Mounts thru-axle mount mainly used to trucks, mounted that the a strip of 2 inch x 1/2 inch of wood. I removed the two D ring tie down point in the rear and used a few longer bolts to hold down the wood strip. I purposely pinched the rubber mat to prevent it from sliding and provide a little shock absorption.

So far it is working really well...

That’s a good fit for the bike, I’m 6’2” and I ride a mountain bike in the actual mountains so I have a 21” frame full suspension 29er with 6” of travel. Unfortunately I wasn’t able to get mine to fit inside standing up.
