    Hello,

New member here looking to find root cause of an intermittent power steering loss- have not found anything definitive as of yet on other blogs / posts.

This has been going on for several weeks. Yesterday, power steering ran fine- no problems. Today it was non existent.

Did a full fluid flush (filled w/ ATF....old fluid was dark) a week ago after which steering was fine for about 50 miles till it went away again.

Does not appear to be intermediate shaft ujoint as I would expect a constantly tight/ratchety steering.

No pump noise, fluid levels have always been fine, no leaks, serpentine belt in good shape.

I suspect a faulty valve (maybe pressure relief in the pump?) in the system, but could use some guidance before I start tearing apart and replacing parts. Trying to avoid a dealer visit as costs are up and quality is down....

Any help / opinions are appreciated.
