Easiest mod I’ve done in my life. Looks so much better too. I’ll post some photos this Wednesday after my lift and wheels get installed.

Did you go with the eBay/FB parts or OEM?

OEM:cheers: I'd consider getting the PRO front black valance or painting the existing one black......ur front end will look even better!

i'm probably going to install a c4 low pro bumper/winch with low bull bar at some point, so there would be no point :)

As much as I am a proponent of going OEM on things the TRD Pro grille is crazy expensive. I just jumped on the 15% eBay coupon recently and got the Chinese version $133 shipped

I’m pretty sure the valance needs to match.

How were you able to purchase the OEM TRD Pro grille and nameplate? I cant seem to find a Toyota dealership that will let me purchase it to put on my TRD Off Road. They all keep asking for my VIN and then tell me that Toyota wont release the part because I dont have a Pro. Which is absolutely crazy to me.

I think if you search the part numbers you may have better luck.

    Nameplate: PZ323-35056
    Grill piece: PZ327-35053

It’s the domino effect, haha, you’ll probably need heavier front suspension to carry that much forward weight.

I've read that the eBay ones have spaces or gaps on the sides. Do the OEM ones have the same gaps when installing on an SR5?

Anyone have pics of the gap?

My local dealership is giving me the runaround, stating that there are several other parts needed and that they've never seen this done before to an Off Road Premium. Could you provide the list of parts that you used? I gave them:
    Part no. PZ323-35056
    Part no. PZ327-35053

Said they need special tools to install that they would have to order as well etc. Preliminary quote of $1500 (LOL). Any thoughts?

Go to another dealer. How long does it take to swap the upper part of the grill and clean the piece to stick the Toyota part on? 30 minutes or so?

That is the most ridiculous thing I've ever heard. I guess rubbing alcohol to clean where the new grille goes is considered a special tool

Right? I'm fully capable of installing myself, I just wanted to be sure that there was nothing different about the '19 as compared to the '14-'18. I'm buying new so I was just going to include this as a bargaining piece but at this point, probably best to just do it myself. Total cost of parts should be <$800 OEM, no?

Here's a quote that's ten times cheaper than that, and it includes raptor lights.

If anyone here thinks that "OEM" isn't also an ABS casting from a Chinese vendor, I've got a bridge to sell you.

I'll agree with that for the most part, except that these are non-functional trim pieces. I will buy OEM stuff for critical part replacement, but these are the opposite of critical. And they're applied the same way that Toyota does them: in small batches by hand. The only Pro parts that originate in Japan are those that are painted the special Pro colors (bumpers, mirror caps, body-in-white, etc.) Everything else is slapped on portside when the truck arrives (Fox shocks, roof rack, wheels, trim).
