We are looking to purchase a new 4Runner without a sunroof and cargo tray. A question I have for taller people is what you do for headroom in a model with a sunroof? I am not that tall, 6'1", but there is simply not enough headroom for me in the passenger seat. I have to tilt my head to the side and put it in the moonroof area. Obviously not an option.

The cargo tray raises the floor height more making it more difficult for my 4legged children to get in. The dealer said he would remove the cargo tray but we are concerned about the wholes in the carpet left from the mounting bolts and mounting wholes open to corrosion; don't know if plugging them with bolts would work or if the bolt beds would protrude into the cargo area.

Welcome to the forum, as far as the sliding tray goes you could trade someone that is looking for one, and they would give you the pieces you need to return to non slider. The plus here is you can get some money on top of the trade. The head room thing is to not get one with the moon roof.

The driver's seat will adjust up and down unlike the passenger side. I'm 6'4 and don't have issues but I don't sit on the passenger side at all.

The driver side is no issue, obviously. I love it as the seat is extremely comfortable (since we don't own one, I don't know how it would be after sitting for hours on a long trip). I have respiratory issues following Covid and sometimes I get so dizzy I can not walk, let alone drive safely. When I was younger, I had no issue with being the solo driver but now, that is not an option.

After further research I discovered that I was misinterpreting the All-weather package with cargo tray package as having the rear deck. Not the same thing. That issue is gone.
