I'm new here

Hello to everyone!

I'm scheduled to take delivery of a new 2023 4Runner Limited this week.

I've currently got a 2018 Rav4 Limited that I'm trading in.

I've loved the body style of this 4Runner for a very long time. I'm afraid that Toyota may be making a change in 2024 to something that I don't like as well.

One thing about the new 4Runner that has me a little bummed out is the lack of a power liftgate. My Rav4 has it, so I'm surprised that the 4Runner doesn't.

I'm seen some posts about an aftermarket power liftgate on this sight, but can't find anything very helpful.

Has anyone else looked into this? I will ask at the dealership when I take delivery.

I don't know anything about a power lift gate mod, but maybe someone else does. The struts make it open pretty easy, though.

 

Welcome. Think of it in a positive way. The Rav4 is lacking a rear roll down window that will never be able to be added.

The bright side is the only electronic part is the latch opening button. Those struts are basic gas struts which can easily replaceable if needed. For quick access one can use the roll down button to lower the glass. (Older 4Runners can use the key)

It’s exciting to think that not long from now you’ll be so happy and enamored with your new 4Runner you’ll completely forget it doesn’t have an auto-lift gate
