Wondering if ILSAC GF-6A engine oil is now recommended in the manual for use in 2022 and 2023 4runners ? Thanks.

Issac is just a standard, min requirements for addives in oil. Toyota 0W20 so far superior to any oil

Any off the shelf brand of the correct viscosity will work well.

Same viscosity index, different base and additives package.

It says Toyota even though they don’t make oil. :D

Was of the opinion that Mobil was the best of oils. However its got too many cleaning additives in the synthetic line.
Running Mobil synthetic in older engines over >75k miles seems to result in oil leakages.

May be wrong. but have experienced these in the past.

According to "car care nut" 0W20 Toyota oil and Mobile1 is the best. So I would go with that.

Maybe I saw a different video (totally possible because he makes many of them and the subject matter overlaps) but I remember him saying to use any good quality name brand oil of the right viscosity and specification, and that the glamor oils (Redline, Amsoil, etc.) offered no significant advantage. He stressed that changing your oil is much more important than which oil you choose.

And change the oil at 5,000 mile intervals.
