Ignition cam broke

Went to start up the truck, ignition freely spun. The cam behind the lock tumbler snapped. This happened with my 99 Land Cruiser, and there are aftermarket cams on ebay. Can’t seem to find one for a 4Runner. Any ideas? Junk yard want me to buy the whole ignition assembly.

Install a "Push-Button" start?

 

I just bought the ignition cylinder from TOYOTA. I don't think it was too expensive.

Although, mine didn't break, it's just sloppy after 21 years and I was looking to replace it before something did break.

You gave up on us after 18 hours? Between a Friday night and Saturday?

From what I have seen, the other forum is more like the dark side.

 

I can count on one finger the number of times I've seen this specific problem, and this is it. I have had two mechanical failures of ignition switches on other ancient vehicles, both solved by cobbling together junkyard parts.
