Ideas For Selling 4Runner

Hi T4R family. We are selling our 2016 SR5 Premium. It has higher mileage, 175K, and I know that scares people off (although it shouldn't with the dependability of these tanks)!

Aside from this site and Facebook Marketplace, any ideas of where else to market it? Dealers are lowballing so I want to make trading it in a last resort.

OfferUp ... I've bought and sold 4Runner items on there and there are definitely a lot of vehicles listed.

 

All the usual suspect sites: Autotrader, CarGurus, Cars dot com, etc.

Also, use KBB to get a gauge on pricing. Not sure what options, but KBB puts standard features at that mileage at about $20K private sale/$18.5K trade. Ask $25K and see what happens.

 

Craigslist is where I sold my 2008 Highlander - $5.00 charge (it sold in one day)

 

Be prepared for the scams selling it yourself. Lots of different stories on why they need you to ship it to them and will give you a check. Every vehicle I have sold this nonsense happens with every story you can imagine.

Here is an example from selling my Tacoma couple months ago.

I'm ready to pay your asking price but not cash in person because my work frame {event coordinator} is tight. I hope we can make the purchase as fast as possible? As I am buying the vehicle for my uncle and I'm very sure he will love it, he is a mechanic, so if there is anything that needs to be fixed in it just let me know he will handle it. My financier will overnight a cashier’s check drawn from my local bank, I have a mover that will come for the pick up once the check clears in your account and he will handle the title for me.I would appreciate if you email me with more pictures (if available) too since i won't be able to see this in person. Get quotes from Carvana, CarMax, etc. too and then gauge that against dealing with the public.

"is this still available?"
"is it a Toyota?"
"will you take $12 and a donkey?"

I like Craigslist but FB Marketplace is probably where it is these days. Maybe a for-sale sign?
