I'm going to Sand Mountain, NV, soon, and need an 8' mast with orange flag to be legal. Can someone shortcut me to the appropriate hardware? Can I just duct tape it to my rear bumper, or is there some decent attachment hardware as well? Looks like flags are sold separately?

Oh, and anyone who wants to tag along is welcome. Sand Mountain is just one stop in a multiday trip out to Austin for shiny rocks.

    Thanks in advance!

I like it. I do need some kind of comms equipment in my truck, so this would be one small step in that direction.

Most flag poles come with a 1/2" UNC threaded base. Get a tow hitch ball mount, remove the ball, and clamp the flag base in the hole with a couple of 1/2" fender washers.
