Seriously, I loathe them. If their house was on fire and they needed a hose I wouldn't help them. This is a list of some of their stupidity...

They have chickens that they free range, in my yard. I live in the city. The chickens shit and dig up my mulch and flower beds. He walks into my yard to get them. He's not friendly and does not acknowledge my presence. I've tried to say hello.

The chicken coup is against my fence. It stinks and makes my backyard unusable because of the flies.

They park their broken down car in front of my house, when there is room in front of theirs. It leaks oil like crazy, I drive through the slick, it gets on my driveway, I track it into my house. He works on it all the time, but it never runs.

He dumps kerosene and trash between our fences.

He yells and screams and blasts early 2000's rap music if he's outside, which is all the time.

I hate them. I hate them so much I'm moving a few blocks away next week. Thanks for letting me vent :)

Damn! That sounds super annoying! I can't imagine hating my neighbors so much that I would move.

I am in a duplex, and my neighbors are a bit obnoxious, too. They have pumpkins rotting on the front porch from last Halloween. The woman left and now the guy has two grown up kids living there. One of them was smoking so much pot in the house that I could smell it in my basement. They also can't park for shit and I worry about them door dinging my work truck.

    But, at least they're nice.

I feel like annoying neighbors can be saved by at least being friendly. I unfortunately have no such luck. The guy is a total dick. Walks around like he's hard. I can hear him baby talk his chickens. He ain't hard haha

Well, I guess I'll jump in.
I live next to "that house" on the Block.
Multiple cars, half of them not working. And the backyard looks like something from a dystopian post war movie.
From what I understand, they have so many code violations which they have ignored that the city has a lean on their house.
    Gotta love it.

You must live on the same street as me, as that's 100% my neighbors haha

I don't know what the compulsion is with shitty neighbors, but its like a MUST that they keep acquiring vehicles that don't run.

Funny you say that, because my guy likes early 00's BMW X5's. Saw him out "working" on it yesterday. Hood up, hammer in one hand, torch in the other. Couldn't for the life of me figure out what the hell he was doing. I suppose nothing because it still doesn't run lol

Aaaahh, our country living is good! Our closest neighbor is a quarter mile away. We do have an annoying neighbor about a half mile away, they keep to themselves, and so no real problems, except for the dogs barking alot. Our Boston terrier Mack hollers at them and tells them "shut up!" I feel for you guys, and I often wonder... What the hell is wrong with some people?

    I rest my case...

It's funny that I just mentioned the shitty parking, and then this morning I come out to one of their idiot friends parked halfway in front of my work truck. I'm the silver Chevy.

LoL! It was quite tempting. There was enough room for me to sneak through, but I definitely wasn't happy about it

    That is tempting also.

It's weird. A few weeks ago one of their friends was parked in my spot, and the guy apologized. And, now this. I remember being young too. But I don't remember ever being that stupid.

Sorry you have to face this.☹️☹️☹️
If I had a neighbor like this the kerosene between the fence would be poison to my dog.

Is there a way you can report to the city? If they do an investigation he would be in big trouble with kerosene right? Also the parking situation?

I think I'm happy to live in a old neighborhood with seniors around me who are super nice. We talk with each other when we see each other in the evening. When my new baby is born came with presents which to me is not common in this country. Even though my neighborhood is non HOA I'm so blessed to have nice neighbors. Hope you find a good spot when you move.

Edit - BTW, one of my neighbors have a relatively new Nissan broken down. But it was towed and parked few feet away from my driveway and no where blocking when i reverse. Guess the problem? CVT..!! Its out of warranty. So a hefty bill to replace. As said they are old and don't have that kind of money to fix. They have another vehicle for thier needs.

I don’t see any cameras on the houses. Next time, pull the valve cores from 2 tires. Easy repair for them but a huge inconvenience when you only have one spare.

I'll probably get flack for this, but this is partially why I kind of like HOAs just a little bit... I don't like being limited too much as to what I can do with my property, but it is nice having neighbors expected to keep their yard/property nice.

Depending on where you live, you might be able to call the city/town to report some of these annoyances, especially if the car hasn't moved in an extended period of time.

I agree. Atleast here in Denver CO recently I feel like Police and City don't really care about law and order. If there is no HOA there is no help. Atleast imo here in CO.

sounds like you've put up with a lot. THIS type of story is why I refuse to live in a city or suburb. If I can't have at least several hundred yards between me and my nearest neighbor, I'm not living there.

Spend 7 grand last fall to flip the bird to inconsiderate neighbors.

that along with going full retard a couple times, it’s understood that if they keep to themselves no problems will be had.

As someone who grew up in a rather meh neighborhood and went to a school where violence was a resolution tactic, I learned a long time ago that bullies and the ignorant only respond to getting punched in the nose.

just saying…. Also learned not every hill is worth dying on, that took a few more years to grasp.

edit: I learned years ago that calling a favor from a friend or spending a few hundred bucks on a letter from legal counsel tends to motivate in a more adult way. Just make sure you are justified in your complaints, if they’ve broke no laws you just look silly then.

seriously, there’s laws against having s farm in populated areas….

There will always be one neighbor that we all hate. Had a teenager across the way always had to rev his motor and boys join in with their shit box cars.

Went on for a few months until one late night coming home from work and I had enough cause they were reving their motors and driving without headlights on.

Confronted them and I started yelling at them like I'm ready for war. I thought I was gonna get my ass kick by 7 teenagers. Nope, they back off and since then, I never seen his friends anymore. For the neighbor, he’s been quiet ever since lol

I could agree, to that extent. But, some municipalities have their own set of rules to try to keep the neighborhood looking nice.

At my first apartment, we had an '85 Supra that was, let's just say "under construction" for a bit parked on the road. We got a nice letter from the police department one day, telling us to fix it or get rid of it. And, in my defense, there were no panels removed, nor was it missing tires or wheels. It looked like a functional car. It just didn't move.:D

Sometimes you just get an inconsiderate a-hole for a neighbor. It's one of the worst things and I can totally relate to wanting to move. I've seen it happen in very nice neighborhoods and not so nice ones. In owner-occupied places and in rentals. There are just some people that exist across the whole socio-economic spectrum who have no clue about being a good neighbor...
