Some parts of the world vehicles like 4runner, GX, Land cruiser 200 are wagons. Vehicles like Tacoma, Tundra are Utes. :)

My 92 has been classified as a wagon for it's entire life. I really don't care what they call it.

That’s because everywhere else in the world off-road vehicles are either classified as a wagon (passenger) or ute (pickup).

Toyota also likes using troop carrier for personnel transport.

4 door utes are sometimes called double cabs.

All open top bathtub body 4x4s are called Jeeps outside the US.

None. Bone Stock. EXCEPT: Brushguard, tow hitch, both welded to the frame. It's good to have friends and a fully equipped garage!
If it saves you money, go with it!

Another trick we stumbled on by accident:If you've been with the same company a while, call them up, and ask them when the last time was they checked your credit rating. I did that, they did that, it had been 15 years, and I got $150.00 knocked off my premium right then and there.
Well worth asking about, anyway. Especially if your credit rating has improved a lot. Or even just some.

    Good luck, all!
    Pat☺

The introduction of the Jeep Wagoneer in 63 might have influenced the direction car makers went in later years. If you look at the 1963 model it resembles the 4Runner and others in that class. Now the Feds own all designs through CAFE standards and that is sad. Toyota is doing it's best to hold out.

Fwiw, wranglers are also classified as station wagons, lol.

I’ve been told that the wagon designation is typically cheaper on insurance than truck or other categories; and to somewhat support that theory… my 4Runner and any Jeep I’ve owned were cheaper to ensure than my Tacoma was. Or course could be a coincidence with other factors coming into play; but still.

My lady friend referred to my 4R as a "car"...then she had the audacity to tease me when I called it a "truck"...punishment was meted out for those transgressions.
