    Plasti dipped my trd rims

Well I just up and did it I think it looks way meaner and truckier. I love it. Hope it holds up for a while. If it doesn't I'll just have to buy new rims is all. But it did save me about 1k$ trying it this way first. Funny thing one of the posts I saw when I guy painted his rims and was scuffing with sandpaper he said- "Don't worry those stock trd rims aren't that special". Lol.

Looks great! Wish mine were darker as well and have thought about getting them powder coated. I don't like the pro wheels and can't justify the cost of PC to myself

Question: when you say plasti dipped - is that rattle can? Did you do the card trick or tape stuff off?

Interested in how long it lasts so updates would be appreciated. If it holds up well it may be worth the time and effort to do the same thing.

Edit - looks like you sprayed the lugs too. Really interested in how that holds up for first tire rotation when they're taken off. If they survive the lug wrench, I may be sold

Just plasti dip and if you don't like pressure wash it off or peel it. That was my logic. Only bad thing is 7 hours in and out of the hot Florida sun! I do like the structural integrity of the trd off road wheels vs pro but pros do look way cooler. I also blacked out the emblems.

I did the playing card trick and it works so well. Whoever thought that up is genius. Yes it was regular rattle can plasti dip 6 coats and 1 coat clear coat. 30 min in between each coat but it's ass hot in Florida so drying is temp dependant I think.

Losing the center caps adds to the tough look too. Nice job.

You stick playing cards all around the bead to not get over spray on the tires. Takes a few minutes to get good at sticking then in snug but works qite well.
