I live in Florida where summers are like living on the sun. Almost unbearably hot. I don't go off road except I might occasionally drive on the beach.

I'm looking at a TRD off road premium with predator package and KBSS in Lunar Rock/black or Barcelona Red/tan SR5 premium with predator package 4X4. The LR is $5000 more than the BR. I know 2023 is the last year of the LR. I look awesome in both. I need to decide soon.

    Talk to me.

I guess question is whether black interior/LR/locker/KDSS/4WD lever (assuming SR5P doesn’t have it) is worth $5k? I would think no personally but I’m not really into red.

    Which one do you want?

Sure, $5K is a good chunk of money. But, totally worth it as opposed to wishing you had gotten the color you wanted.

If you live in Florida (no snow) and you don't go offroad, why are you looking at 4runners at all?

Is it because you look awesome in them?

This is a two step process:

    1. Decide which one do you like more.

    2. Buy it.

It took me close to a year to find one in a color I liked with the options I wanted. I'm glad I waited and passed up a few that were close but didn't meet my wants.

If you ever need to go full-send on a beach (where A-Trac is useless), the rear locker on the TRD OR will be very helpful.

The ORP is nice, even if you don't plan on using all the features. MTM is handy for parking, and in my case, squeezing into the garage with minimal clearance.

Get the SR5 Premium, A-Trac kicks ass offroad. Save your money unless you fell in love with KDSS like me ;)

Because crossovers all look the same, they suck, unless they have a Hemi :)

Speak for yourselves. I'd drive the shit out of a Highlander or RX if I wasn't into off-roading.

But, heck, some people drive Wranglers just because they like how they look.

I have an TRD ORP so I should be biased, but the SR5 with the predator package you are considering sounds pretty rad.

Good tips above, if you dont need the TRD OR features, get the SR5 then. Although the TRD trim will have better resale in the long run......

You’re in Florida, and don’t plan to off road…How about the 2wd version! If you plan on keeping it a long time, I suspect the 2wd version would last forever with nothing but gas and oil money.

And if you live near the northern border, you could always throw on some lo-pros and squat it. Not sure what color would go best with squat though :D;)

My Jeep dealer once told me that anytime you see a two-door Jeep in the lot, that's probably somebody ordered it and then did not buy it. Some people, especially girls and young women, find the two-door Jeeps cute and cuddly.
This thing has 79k miles on it, I guarantee you it has never been on a gravel road even lol. It is so clean. So yeah, some people really buy vehicles for how they look.

We have a Wrangler and I honestly cannot see how people like these things as Daily Drivers. We ride it on the DNR trails near our property. Its road attitude is complete ass. And if another idiot waves at me when Im driving it...... :smack:

Why get off road if you don’t go? I live in NE FL and drive on the beach so 4wd is definitely worth it. Get the sr5 premium and use part of the $5k savings and buy an awning and a cooler for those hot summer days on the beach.

The new ones are much better. But yeah I agree, TJs and JKs weren't great onroad. But a disconnected and aired down Wrangler is more comfortable than IFS off-road(When crawling in low speed, not running in the desert). The solid axles do everything, the chassis remains relatively level.

I'm not convinced KDSS is worth it if I don't off road. Plus it seems expensive to repair.

I bought it for its onroad manners, offroad is just a bonus.
