So I impulse bought a pair of brand new Maxtrax Minis for 100$ on FB marketplace(180$ new). They are small enough to fit perfectly on my rack. I would not be able to accomodate the longer ones easily. Anyways, I got them for just in case scenarios where I would be throwing rocks abd branches under the tire, I mainly overland and dont get myself into too sticky situations. The seller told me they are good for ATVs, Maxtraxx says they could be used for SUVs too. Did I just buy useles(for my truck) plastic or could I get some use from them if things came to it.

    Thanks!

I’m sure they’ll be handy in some situation. (I’d also sooner believe Maxtrax’s website versus a semi-random person)

    Stock for now.
I could see them being enough to ramp you out of a hole is some situations. I don't have MaxTrax, but have Go-Treads. The main thing I use them for is leveling the vehicle, I bet you could use the MaxTrax for that.

As they are only 25" long, I think they will be minimally useful. Normally traction boards allow you the opportunity to gain a little momentum, which is what you need when bogged. So, it's likely those will not be long enough to allow you to gain any speed. You'll have some wheel spin, and then the board will shoot down or back and you'll be without momentum or traction.

I'd say they will cause at least $100 worth of frustration and grief when trying to use them off road. Meaning, a 25" Maxtraxx is more trouble than it is worth.

I have multiple sets and sizes…I feel they are very practical cause they are easier to stow in your vehicle and are handy to use with a set of full size, mix and match, save a few bucks
