How much you got left to pay-off your rig?

I got about $13k to pay mine off, is a 2021 SR5 and I barely use it, mostly on the weekends.

 

$0.00. I financed $7,700.00 upon purchase in September 2019 on a 5-year loan @ 3.64%, and just paid extra for the next 18 months to pay it off early. Grand total of $265.20 interest paid.

 

I paid off my 2019 in late 2020. I had a loan but used savings to pay it off instead of paying all the interest while I had money just sitting not making much interest.

 

'bout $2500 left on the note. Last payment will be in April.

 

I traded in my 2017 Taco when I bought my 2022 4Runner in June of that year, and then 6 months later in December I paid it off.

Aww yeah, I get to flex a little bit. I'm about to pay mine off in the next 30-ish days.

I bought it new in 2023 at the end of Sept. The payoff balance will change after today, because today my monthly payment posts, and in two weeks I will make a principal only payment for $2000.

At this rate, I should have it fully paid off about 15 months after buying it?

Every internet post about how much someone paid or has remaining will always be everybody online paid cash or only financed 10 dollars or got zero percent and are becoming millionaires investing their money off the stock market hence why they didn’t just pay cash at the stealership

 

This is what I did on my 2019 as well.

Nice not to have payments and with only 26K miles on the clock she'll provide reliable, fun transportation for many years to come.

 

All 4 of our vehicles have been paid off for quite a few years. Looking at picking up a 5th vehicle with cash now lol.

 

None, made one payment so I could finance to get the price I wanted and then paid it off using savings. Now my wifes Outback is at 1.9% so we will roll with that for a while and just pay extra each month.

Zip Nada nothing, so freaking happy about this. But, I had to take out a 15k loan for 3 years. The 17 taco I traded in paid for most of it (basically got what I paid for the taco minus 5k).

 

I bought the 2018 new in August of 2018. Paid cash when we bought it.

 

I got a 96 month loan at 22.3% interest and I pay $25.99/month.

 

So encouraging to see many people with little to no car debt on these. The norm seems to be the opposite, with people buying way too much car on some 72 month loan before going upside down on it.

A paid off 4Runner is the fortress of solitude for your long term transportation needs.

 

Agreed. If I wanted to really brag, I would mention that I only have about 5 yrs left on my mortgage. Next year I'm going to make a principle only payment every month in addition to my normal payment. That should shave a lot of time off the remainder.

Then I'll have a truck (with low miles) paid for, a house paid off and a decent-nice savings & 401k.

 

I would like to think that many 4Runner owners are smart and researched the vehicle prior to purchase for things like durability, reliability and residual value. Likewise, these same buyers are fiscally responsible, do not over extend themselves and spend money wisely.

 

That statement is only true, until we buy the 4runner and find this site. Then we spend money like kids in candy store. Am I right? LOL

 

I'm trying to wrap my head around this. So you took out a 15k loan to get the title, instead of financing the vehicle itself, but you still owe the 15k? Was the bank loan a better interest rate than an auto loan?

The only responses you’re going to get are the positive ones (as seen thus far). Nobody is going to come in here if they are at $600-1000/month at a 4-8% interest rate with zero down and tell you they have $37k left to pay off. It’s going to become a bragging board like those $6 pieces of wood you give the grandparents to hang pictures of their grandchildren on

 

I didn't realize there was a term for it (I just googled "title loan" after you mentioned it). Maybe it's splitting hairs, but I would never consider that "owning" a vehicle. For me, I own it when I don't owe anyone any more money on it, be that the bank, the dealer, etc.

 

This is my thoughts for cars too. However, for houses and property.. you never really “own” it. You only own property as long as you pay the taxes. Thus, you never really own it.

You can own a car and not register it. Doesn’t mean you can drive it on the street but legally, no body can come take it.

 

Who are we to judge why this guy needed it. Doge coin went up from 17 cents election night to 40 cents right now if I took out a title loan on my 4Runner for 30k I would have literally more than doubled that 30k in one week

 

Bought my 2023 Pro in August of 2023 and paid it off in August of 2024 and it just hit 10,000 miles.
