I will probably hit years before miles. 2 1/2 years old and just hit 8k.

But it will all depend on what the next gen looks like for me. I tend to not keep vehicles long.

We bought it for our GSD & did a lot of research before happily choosing the 4Runner. At the current rate (2 yrs & just shy of 10k miles & 4k was one vacation) it seems we will never need a new one!
The style is timeless & the 6th Gen will likely have more TSS & who knows what else. Which is why we bought a '19 over waiting for the '20.
I could see them putting in blind spot monitoring and that would be great on trails with close trees...!
I'll keep the dinosaur that we have & love!

21 months and 16k miles so far. I'm already thinking of selling it. The Runner is fine, but I want to get out of the payments. With the equity I have in it, I could sell it and buy an FJ for cash. Other than the tailgate on the Runner vs. the rear door on the FJ, I actually prefer the FJ and really regret selling the one I had.

Closing in on 7 months and 10K. With a big 2 week road trip/camping trip planned this summer. At least once a month I'll take a weekend trip to the NC mountain or to the Atlantic Coast, on top of normal everyday driving. I imagine we'll get about 20K/year. My youngest is 6 and loves my 4Runner. She will most likely be the recipient of a well cared for 10 year old ~200K 4Runner... (provided I can find a comparably reliable replacement, if not, I'll find her a Rav4).

Depending how the 6th gen looks whenever it’s relaxed, 2-3 years after that if I like the new gen. I drive about 20k-25k miles a year so it’ll be at 200k in a couple years.

You must have a lot of equity. Talk about sticker shock. I think the only thing that holds its value better than a 4runner is an FJ. I wanted one badly before I bought my 4R but it wasn't in the budget. My runner is a 3rd vehicle, albeit my daily driver and I sold my 88 Wrangler YJ that I used for a toy to buy it. I don't believe in car payments so I had to buy for what I got out of the YJ, or put some cash with it. As it turned out I sold the YJ for $4600 and bought my Runner for $3000. Left me with $1600 to mod with. 05 SR5 with 263K at the time. But in excellent condition. I got very lucky.

Well, I wouldn't be buying the nicest FJ for cash! But yeah, the FJ's hold their value very well and I was able to take advantage of that when buying the Runner.

In the perfect world, I’ll get a different daily driver one day and this will be my OffRoad - road trip truck for the next 20 years.
Perfect world never works out in my favor, though.

2020 Super White ORP. Purchased Nov. 2019. 32,279 after I parked at work this morning. I made the deal for trade in on 2021 a few weeks ago. '21 super white ORP on a boat somewhere in Pacific, I think.

Why? They offered way better interest rate on a '21 and the '21 I'll get has a few more options I'd like. Seems they really wanted my 2020 to resell it. Annnnnnd the mileage, the mileage, 100 mile round trip work commute. I see perhaps a GEN 6 in my future, if they don't F it all up.

That's probably my plan, too. Keep the 4Runner for fun duties, add a new DD to the stable.

Longest I've ever kept a vehicle was 3 years. However I've spent so much fixing up my '08 by now though that I'm reticent to even think about getting rid of it. 242k miles and runs like a champ. I'm more likely now to pick up a second vehicle and keep this T4R, waiting to see what the new Tundra looks like.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I think the only thing that will keep me from keeping my 4Runner until it's untenable to keep it running is moving to a country where I wouldn't be able to import it. And even then, I might end up with a Land Cruiser Prado. A Suzuki Jimny would be tempting, though. I actually would have gotten a Samurai (US Jimny) if they were still available. I swear, I was the last person in the US who didn't know that they stopped making the Samurai for the US market 25 years earlier when I went car shopping just before the pandemic hit in 2020.

The reason we got a 4runner is that they last and I keep cars a long time, no plans to get rid of it any time soon.
