I had the same tank off gas in my four wheeler for like five years. Then it started turning green. I had trouble starting it but it was about empty. I filled it with fresh high octane. It started and now starts first try.

generally 3-6 months, in some cases much longer. bigger issue is that it gels after a while and leaves a coating on the vehicles innards that can be problematic. ok maybe for a four wheeler...wouldn't want that in my 4Runner though.

It’s a carburetor. I hear all this hype about ethanol gas. All my engines sit and run fine.

I accidentally dropped a screwdriver in my “mixed” gasoline can for the weedeater. I says “that can’t hurt it”. Finally used enough to see it. Gas turned black. The weedeater started bogging real bad. I used a magnet got the screwdriver out. It was kind of “squishy”. So, mixed some 2-cycle with some Dominator oil. Problem solved.

I left gas in the SandRail for like four years maybe longer without starting. I thought well I will just get a rebuild kit for the carb. When I took the fuel lines off, there was this black ooze, it was so nasty. I took the carbs off, gave them to my neighbor with the rebuild kit. Just to get rid of them.

I’ve got a set of new pistons/cylinders/pushrod tubes, ready to be installed. But, I don’t think I will even put gas in it.

Gas is in the ground for millions of years before we pump it out.

Leave gas around in a carb and you get lacquer.

Seafoam is a great thing to throw in your gas if it is going to sit.

I've been burning green stale gas from 2020 in my John Deere. During the shutdowns when gas went down to like $1.00 a gallon, I filled up my 30g gas caddy and a bunch of 5/6g gas cans at Sams Club. Apparently, I forgot there was about 10 gallons left in the caddy until I went to move it a few weeks ago. Drained it out, smells stale, but the tractor doesn't seem to care. Noticed it was green-ish when I was pouring it in the tank. This is E10 87 octane fuel. Well, more like 77 octane now :D
I'd burn it in something like my tractor, minibike but not my 4R.
