Hose placement question

Hey guys,

First post here, I've been a shade tree mechanic for about 10-15 years now and have done many hard jobs but I've been excited because I inherited this 3rd gen 4runner, 2002 6cyl and it was leaking oil horribly. The valve covers were basically under .5-1mm of old oil. Went to tackle the job with too much confidence and didn't label and take everything as slowly as I should have but I was hoping this forum could help.

I have the lower and upper plenum back on and most hoses to this point in the job connected back to where they should be but this hose has been blowing my mind. I must have knocked it off or missed it in my DIY because I can not find where it goes. Does anyone have any ideas?

Wanted to find out before I put the throttle body back on in case other parts need to come back off.

I greatly appreciate your guys expertise, hoping someone can help.

Welcome. You can try pulling up a graphic on an oem Toyota parts page online. Try looking in the cooling or AC section and attempt to match up that pipe on the parts fiche. I took a quick look myself and found a part similar in shape but you would probably do better to confirm its identity with part in hand. Maybe worth a look.

 

I don't gave access to my car so this is just based on my memory
I think this is your PCV hose. The 90 degree metal end of the tube goes to the driver side valve cover. I think on top of the valve cover there is a hole toward the firewall where this end goes. The other end must go somewhere on the intake side.

 

Thank you guys for the welcome and responses, still haven't concretely narrowed it down but I'm waiting on replacement hoses to the intake from McGeorge. Expensive for some hoses but I expect the car to last a long time if properly taken care of

I think it goes on the back of the intake near the firewall.
