Just purchased a new 2018 4runner TRD Offroad. Yay! However, there is a very strong offensive odor that fills the garage. Doesn't smell inside the car, and as far as I can pin point, it is coming from the tires or wheel wells. Anyone with similar issues?

It is more than likely the brand new tires. I had a stack of brand new tires in my garage and it was super strong. It'll wear off after some driving.

Ya, I had the same thing. Mine smelled a lot like melting plastic. It has faded slowly, though I am at 8K now and still notice it sometimes. When I did a bit of research it seemed it was a common thing that eventually faded and did not do any harm.

Yep. I had the same for a few months or so. Tires mostly I figured. It’ll go away. Congrats on your new 4Runner!

It’s the tires, it was bad when I first got mine too. It will subside the more you drive.

Wife's 4runner smelled as well for a couple of days. The sales gal assured us it will go away in in about 5 days. Something about some of the paints burning and curing in the engine bay.

    Is plasti-dip a mod?!
Some of that smell could also be the catalytic converters breaking in too.

For me I think the clutch needed to break-in. For the first few thousands miles, if I was aggressive enough when going up-hill then I smelled the clutch for a few minutes at a time.
