My horn has been not working for a while now. I have come to the conclusion that it was the clock sensor that was not enguaging the horn. I checed the relay and the conditions were met. I grounded pin 1c-7 of the relay circuit and the horn sounded. Also note this whole time the panic has rung both horns. So I wired up a switch that integrates into the dash. I illustated on the attached diagram what I have done. The mistake I made was wire 1c-7 wire to one of the "red" lines on the switch. I quickly changed it to the green wire. All I got was a light on the switch. the horn is not sounding. I removed the connector so now i just have two wires leading into the cab, one attached to 1c-7 and one attached to the chassis of the 4runner. I just realized I should have tested the switch before I installed it that was my fault. I think the horn is fried now. When I turned the ignition I heard a relay cylce like 100 times then stop. Now the panic only sounds the high pitch horn. Should I look into after market horns now?

^You can test the horn by running a jumper wire from battery positive to the terminal lug on the back of the horn. The horn itself is grounded through its mounting bolt, so it needs to be mounted securely to the body.

All this time did you pull the airbag and verify the ground wire from the clock spring to the airbag frame hasn't detached?

^No. There's a single ground wire going from the clock spring to the airbag frame that is for the horn. When you press on the airbag cover, the airbag frame touches the steering wheel frame and continuity with vehicle ground is made. That wire just uses a basic spade connector and can fall off. It doesn't cause the airbag light to illuminate because it doesn't affect the airbag system.
