My homelink has worked fine since I bought my 4runner in 2019. All of a sudden yesterday, it stopped and I noticed none of the indicator lights were coming on. Today, I tried to reprogram it, but still no indicator lights. Surely there is not a fuse for just the indicator lights on the homelink, so I gotta look elsewhere. I was able to put a new battery in the old garage door opener that came with the garage door, programmed it and it is working just fine. Anyone have any idea what may be wrong with the homelink inside the vehicle?

Hi k, welcome to the forum. What year is your vehicle? Do either of the other two Homelink buttons light up?

Ooo. Y’all are particular. Minute counters. . Sorry, I’m new. It’s taken me a little longer than 13 minutes to figure out the forum.

I have a 19 TRD off road premium. It’s worked perfectly until yesterday. There are no lights whatsoever ever now when I press the garage opener. No flashing green, orange. Nothing.

I did call homelink and they said I needed to take it to the dealership to check for a possible loose wire.

So you’ve got 3 Homelink buttons up there above the mirror and none of them will light up? Does anything up there work? Is the little light on the front of the mirror on? Do the courtesy lights work?

Exactly. None of the homelink lights work but everything else up there works fine.

Okay. I doubt it is a loose wire, but it might be worth checking. Have a look at the following video (it covers the installation of a USB adapter for a dashcam, but it covers removal of the overhead console well. You can scrub forward to 3:10 in the video to get to the relevant part. Just unplug the cables as shown and then plug them back in. Do this with the car turned off.

Then reassemble in the reverse order.

While you have it apart look for any indication of water ingress if you have a sunroof. As the lights and auto-dimming mirror are getting power I don’t think the problem is a blown fuse. If unplugging doesn’t work, and you’ve tried unsuccessfully to program one of the other two Homelink buttons, then I think your next option is a dealer repair.

    Hope that helps.
