Hilux Surf/4Runner parts compatibility

    1997 Toyota Hilux Surf, 2024 Toyota Tundra
    Hello!

    New to the forum and wanted to see if anyone has any insight for me.
    I picked up a 97 Hilux Surf Diesel import last year and have been wheeling around the AZ trails and driving it around town a lot to find the kinks and upgrades I want to make.
    I know for sure I'm looking to do a lift and tires.
    I am under the impression by reading other forums that pretty much everything besides the drivetrain is the same as the 4runner so I am looking at getting a 2 inch lift and 33's and pretty much refresh as much of the suspension system. any chance anyone knows if I can just buy off the shelf parts for a 3rd gen 4runner and they'll fit on the Surf?

    Besides lift and tires what are some other good mods/changes should I looks for to be able to tackle some more challenging trails? New to 4x4ing since i got the truck so any advice I will take!
