Just wanted quickly introduce myself. I am from the Asheville NC area and long time Tacoma owner but had a pre runner which doesn't really work out too well here in the mountains. Pulled the trigger on a 2017 TRD off road and of course the ride quality is amazing. Will take a while for any major upgrades but already ordered a canvasback truck cover set since my wife and I will continue truck/car camping. Finally we can explore some more secluded campsites.
One thing I wanna do right away are some rock sliders because my wife is a shorty and needs somewhat a step. And since I wanna do some kind of off roading I rather spend the money on sliders and not predator steps etc. Any memorial sales coming up?
Another thing, does my 4 runner suppose to have Eibach suspension?...
That would be it for now, hope this forum is as imformative as Tacomaworld and have a great day yall...Auf Wiedersehen...yes, I am also German20220521_173255.jpg 20210611_142543.jpg

Welcome to the forum. If it has an Eibach suspension, it was added by a previous owner.

Thanks and nice color indeed. Still haven't made it to Greenville yet but certainly need to visit one day.

Congratulations. I that’s my old 4Runner. Just traded it in on a 22 limited. It has the Eibach front shocks on factory springs set at 1.75. Rears are 3/4” Eibach springs. Hope you enjoy it.

Hold on a second. You think that one is yours or your old one had the same set up with Eibach?

I’m sure is it’s mine. You got it from Mike Johnson. I bought it new in 17 in Charlotte. Put the black valences on, trd skid plate, led fogs, 5 BFG ko2 and installed the Eibach kit myself. Only thing missing is the front door tint and the slider (I kept them to put on the new one but I ended up with a limited)

Omg...yup, that was yours then. Man what a coincidence that is. Well, got to say, you took great care of it and this was actually the selling point. Did you ever take it wheeling? How come you sold it? Anyways, it's a great car and love driving it.
Abd I saw your posts about the sliders and I am actually looking to get them. True you have to drop the gas tank?

Hey there. Hickory is where I bought the 4 runner. Since my Tacoma was a 2WD, I did not venture out much but heard a lot of things about Hurricane Creek. I will certainly and slowly ease into the whole 4x4 world.

Never wheeled it at all. Just access roads that didn’t even need 4wd. It was my wife’s daily driver and our weekend/trip car. We wanted dual climate control and Toyota keeps only putting it on a limited and a pro. So we got a limited.
Sliders were easy, I just put a floor jack under the gas tank and lowered it enough to slide the bracket in.
I’ve had numerous Toyotas and that one was my favorite

I thought you never really took it out. I mean, when I looked at it I thought it was brand new. Again, great job keeping it in amazing condition. I will certainly take great care of it as well. Thanks for the slider information. You liked them I assume? Any chance you could shoot me the Eibach part #?
Anyways, great meeting you here and can't wait to tell my wife that...lol

I’ll try to dig the part numbers up, I bought everything separately. I know the rear springs are from a 4 th gen. If you’re interested in the sliders let me know. I don’t think my kid is going to need them on the new truck.

Well if you ever want to go I will be happy to be your trail buddy. I go with my wife and 4 kiddos. It is beautiful and I have seen stock vehicles go through some of the most challenging parts.

Wow that is cool to see that you got that from @HarrisNC

I am not sure if @HarrisNC or his wife actuated the 4WD like recommended. But I would make sure to actuate that per manufacturer recommendations. That transfer case may need some practice.

Really appreciate that and will get back at you when the time is right. Pretty busy right now with remodeling the house but happy I would have an experienced person with me exploring my first 4 wheel adventure.
Yup, pretty cool that he saw and recognized his 4 runner and as far as I can tell, he knows his stuff and took care of the transfer case.

Looks like a very nice area. And I agree, it was nice being surrounded by trees again. Very happy I made that move. Arizona was great but after a while it got a little boring...lol
