Hey everybody, my name is Rudy and I'm the proud owner of a 1990 SR5 4Runner. I was involved in a car accident (other guy's fault, I was t-boned) on January 6 and my car was totaled. My stepdad had the 4Runner as his spare vehicle and thankfully gave it to me to help me out. I absolutely love it, but, it has a few problems. The biggest problem I have is the tailgate window. My stepdad says it will go down but doesn't always go back up so I have not yet tried it out of fear of it not going back up. I hope I can can some insight and tips on how to fix this. Thanks in advance and I'm glad to be a part of the forum.

Man glad your ok. Sounds like a pretty bad impact. Take it easy. Does it have a sunroof? If so it propably leaks you may want to just caulk it if it leaks.....I don’t use my back window anymore, hek you can drive it with the hatch open I stuck a thirty year old Japanese Maple in mine had to load it up with a bobcat...

Thanks and I'm ok now, just a little sore on some days. My 4Runner does not have a sunroof. My stepdad replaced the tracks for the tailgate window and said it wasn't that...that whatever the problem was it was electrical. But that leaves a lot of options to what the problem is. Bad motor, bad switch, bad ground, etc. Who knows honestly. I was hoping to see if this a common problem and if so, if there was common culprits.
