    Hello,

My wife has a 2011 limited 4runner, and it looks like the kdss has been disabled. There are some knocking/clanking noises when going over bumps, and I want to replace the sway bar links, but when I go to select the parts, there are different ones for the kdss and non kdss models. Which one should I get, assuming that they did not replace the sway bars when they disconnected the kdss lines?

Also, what are some good aftermarket or oem places to get these?

    Thanks

All limiteds have XREAS, not KDSS. So all the sway bar links are the same.

Ah ok, so standard sway bar links should work then?

More than likely the shocks and struts are what's giving you knocking and clanking noises. If the PO disconnected the XREAS system, chances are the shocks and struts are done. I really don't think replacing the sway bar end links is going to fix your problem, although it couldn't hurt. You should probably look at a replacing the shocks and struts first. Don't bother with fixing the XREAS system unless you have $3-4K burning a hole in your wallet. For that kind of money, you can get a damn nice suspension system.

Got any suspension photos? Preferably the F/R shocks & springs, sway bar links, and upper & lower control arms.

You have/had Xreas on the Limited, not KDSS. By disabled, do you mean the shocks/struts have been replaced at some point? If so what was installed?

I would not start throwing any suspension parts at it until you verify where the clunking is coming from. Sway bar links may be shot, but they also may not be causing the issue. Need to get under it and see where you have loose/worn parts and go from there. If you can't do it your self, take it to a shop you trust and have them show you the worn parts so you can make plan to replace what needs replacing.
