Just got the matte black TRD wheels for my 2017 TRD off road premium and made the mistake of putting tire shine on my tires because they were “blooming” and I wanted to cover up the brown after multiple times washing and not fully coming off. Well, applied the tire shine gel on a hot day, drove my rig. And the shine slung onto my matte wheels leaving dark black spots. I’ve tried washing and washing and not coming off. Did I stain them permanently? Anything I can use or do to get it off? I feel super dumb for even putting the tire shine on :(
I’ve cleaned with Chemical guys meticulous matte cleaner and soap. Ordered Beasley’s matte cleaner and sealant...

I usually just go over the whole face of the wheel with the tire shine, then just whipe it down with a dry micro fiber. Makes them look nice.

They will get dull again evenly not spotted.

You put the shine on matte wheels? Water or silicone based? I don’t want them really shiny or else I would have got the gloss black ones, but if it’s a slight sheen I don’t mind...

I would try some kind of degreaser like Simple Green or Greased Lightning.

Thanks. I used dawn dish soap thinking that was a degreaser soap? Lol I have no idea what the hell I’m doing. I’ll try that tomorrow!

I would wait till the Dr. Beasleys comes in the mail. Never used their cleaner, but use the sealant every wash. It’s good stuff. Your wheels will be fine after the cleaning/sealing.
