Hi folks, new here and I'm trying to help my son with his 91. He replaced the lower intake manifold with some friends the other day and now that everything is hooked back up the truck is starting but gas is coming out of this vent, and I'm not familiar enough with this truck to know what this piece is so I can look up more information on it. Hoping some here can point me in the right direction. Were thinking he may have had some hoses mixed up when he tried to start it before and got fuel in there? The diagram we have isn't clear and seems there's a lot of litte differences in these early years.20210326_190526.jpg

That’s the heater control valve. It controls the flow of coolant to the heater core. It looks like it’s missing a hose clamp. You think gas is in there?

Okay that makes sense. The actuator on the bottim made me think of the ac/ heater controls on my vw. Looking at it again it may be spraying up from just below that vent. I'm thinking it may be a leaking fuel line I see one close to there.could just be spraying up when it's pressurized. Of course it's hard to see when it's spraying at you.

the Fuel Rail is just below it so what I would do is put a rag or paper towel over the Fuel rail and just hit it with a quick turn over don't even run and then look to see where the rag or paper towel got wet and work in that vicinity checking all connections and gaskets.
