Hi everyone. I'm going to be purchasing a '21 TRD Off Road soon and want to put a 3" lift and some beefier tires on relatively quickly, so I'm doing my research ahead of time. I'm not at all auto-savvy and I'm having a tough time figuring out a combination of lift/tires to go with.

I won't be doing any intensive off-roading, just mild camping/trail type stuff so I don't need anything crazy, and mostly just prefer the look/feel of being higher up with some more aggressive tires. I'll be going with the TRD Pro tires and am hoping to go with some 285's and was wondering what kind of lift will allow that, and if any adjustments need to be made to fit them.

Also I'm in Ontario, Canada near Toronto so if anyone has suggestions for a good shop that can do the installs for me it would be greatly appreciated. Also, recommendations for good tires that will keep me covered year round with Ontario weather would be awesome too!

I've taken a look at the suspension/tires sections but figured since my question is about both that this would be the place to post, apologies if it's not.

I have a thread here titled Elka and I wrote a piece on my lift in 4 WD magazine that came out last summer - you might find it in line it’s called The Perfect Lift. I live just outside the GTA. I had my Elka suspension installed by CT Motorsports in Mississauga - probably the best small 4x4 shop in Canada. The owner, Ski, probably knows more about Toyota 4x4s than anyone I know and I’ve owned Toyota’s since I bought my first 4x4 pickup in 1980 when they were first introduced in Canada. Ski is the man.
I didn’t go with 33” tires on mine, but you will need a body mount chop and Ski is the only guy I know in Canada who I’d trust to do that on a new expensive truck.
Your truck will probably come with KDSS if you’re lucky, and Elka makes their suspensions specifically for KDSS equipped 4 Runners. You can get up to 3” but will need a rear spring or spacer to bring it to level.

Another 3" set up that doesn't get enough attention is ironman. From the land down under.

What's your budget? I can provide links for the cheapest way to get to 3", what I would pick to get to 3", and if money was no object.

I've ran close to every AT tire made, Toyo's, BFG's, Falken, Duratracs, ect. I would pick the Falken Wildpeaks, followed by the Nitto Ridge Grapplers, for wet and dry traction, and logevity.

Something middle of the road most likely. I want to maintain a good ride quality as I like the feel of the stock 4Runner so if something cheap is going to compromise that I’d rather spend more. But again, I don’t need anything fancy so nothing too expensive. I’d be interested in hearing what you’d go for

Looks awesome! Did you have to do anything in order to fit the wild peaks, and if not do they rub at all?

Removed front mud flaps and trimmed a little off the front plastic trim.

Can you tell me your ground clearance? Also... how tall is the 4 runner?

I love the look so kinda trying to see how it stands IRL compared to some in the parking lot.

Did you upgrade your suspension to something better or why did you take these off. Curious I been looking at these on toytecs website. Good bad crappy?

    Installed a "custom" stage 6
Other than needing new seals and fluid (rebuild kit)
    They're in great shape
I would have had them rebuild instead of upgrading but I really wanted res'ies and heavier springs
