Hello to all from Michigan

Nice to meet the forum... this is my third Toyota. I owned the first year of the Rav4. My first new vehicle. That was a fun little car. Then had a Subaru Baja for awhile. Then a friend moved to Montana and I started going out there once a year to go National Parking. We talked about wanting a vehicle to be able to get places, mostly Utah, we couldn't get to. So I bought a 2014 FJ Cruiser. Man, did we have fun with that!



Moab, The White Rim Trail, The passes around Silverton CO. Wyoming Montana, the North Woods of Wisconsin and the UP. But lately I've been dealing with health issues and haven't been able to travel. In November I noticed the 40th 4runner on the Dealer lot.



I loved it.. some don't . Also had things I've never had. Heated seats, heated steering wheel, safety things like radar but still has knobs. Even its own Hot Wheel



And the first upgrade I add to every car I have.. the Chilling Frog given to me by my kid to remind me to relax.

As it sits today. Installed a remote starter, leveling lift and MT Baja Boss tires. Usually have 2-3 feet of snow to run around in but this year there's only grass.

Nice to be here and will see what the year brings

I see you installed a remote starter. That is one feature I miss that I’ve had on nearly every vehicle I’ve owned since the 90’s. Which one did you get? You install it yourself? I used to help a buddy out when his shop got backlogged with audio and alarm systems in the 90’s but it’s been a while. Looking for easy.

 

Did the Start X one for $200. Watched the Installs and Pitfalls video on YouTube a few times.. the hardest part is getting the parts off. Some are very tight. I'm not mechanically inclined at all and got it done in about 2 hours. Works great.. first time having one.
