2.5" Bilstein lift, 1" body lift, 34" tires on 17x9 Method Racing 312 wheels, CBI front bumper with Warn EVO10s winch, full RCI under armor and rock sliders, ARB front and rear air lockers, 8.2" rear axle house swap, etc....
Hi everyone. I own a 2004 SR5 v8, which is my 2nd 4Runner. First one was a 2019 TRD OR. I like the 5th gens but honestly like my 4th gen more.

I have had the 04 for 1 year this month. It already came with a 2.5" Bilstein lift and a 1 inch body lift and a classic CBI front bumper when I bought it. I have been busy modding this whole time.

Since I have owned this 4Runner, I have got all the maintenance items current and did my own modifications. Probably the two most significant mods so far is:

    1) The second being a rear axle housing swap from a 5th gen 4Runner to replace the weak 8.0" that has already broken ring gears once. While performing the swap, I had the front and rear diffs rebuilt, re-geared to 4.56's and installed ARB air lockers front and rear.

I can't believe this fit and on a pallet. Lol.

All cleaned up, repainted, rebuilt and getting installed:

    2) installing an ARB twin onboard air system with a 1 gallon tank, all mounted in the engine bay with custom brackets that I made.

I will say with front and rear lockers, this beast feels like it can tackle most challenges easily. Or more easily anyway. ;)

Near future plans include a manual FJ Tcase swap and building out a drawer system to better organize stuff. I probably need to start a build thread.

Anyway, looking forward to seeing what others are doing and sharing what I am working on.

Thanks, HuskerRunner. If your in the Omaha area, I usually hang out with the Omaha Toyota Outlaws FB group and occasionally the Omaha Toyota 4WD group.

Welcome from Arizona! I loved my 2008 too, however I have been really happy with my 5th gen. Everyone on this forum has been very helpful with all the information they are sharing. I enjoy reading about what others are doing to their ride, whether or not I'm going to do it.

Have to say the beast and what you’re doing- big  . We’ll be at Johnson lake in Aug (not my choice this year with the families) but we will be back for Pheasant/duck hunting in Oct/Nov. Love riding Mac that time when the water is low.
