Added a heads up display today from Cartrimhome. Great product with an OEM fit. Only took about 20-30mins to install. Only thing I've noticed is that the speedo is off by 2 or 3kms (Canada). Other than that, it is a nice little modern addition to the 4Runner. The pics make it look blurry but it is clear in real life. Cheers!

Here is a vid of the install from another owner.

Great idea and i thought about it but with the stick on tape on the windshield, it looks so cheesy compared to vehicles that actually comes with one

You can do same thing with an old smart phone. D/L one of hundreds HUD apps, put the phone on the dash and you got instant HUD display. No tape on glass needed at night.

Very cool that you did that and I see you followed the rule of "Cheap Real Estate" by only modifying the speaker grille so it's cheap to undo later on.

Personally a HUD drives me crazy. I had a factory one on a 2000 Grand Prix GTP I owned years ago (bought it new). Made me constantly aware of my speed and it seriously slowed me down. Why own a supercharged car to be paranoid of how fast I was going. On the other hand, never got a speeding ticket in it.

So if the reflecting tape you have to put up can be trimmed down to a smaller square and you can hide that behind a TX inspection sticker, this might work out alright.
Anybody tried the HUD without tape or a backing sticker, just curious if it stands out enough?

I was just going to say that. I don't think there is room for the registration sticker for TX (and any other state that has the sticker).

But it is super cool add-on.
