Headlight bulb advice

I’ve just spent the last 1.5 hours researching the best fit for a plug n play bulb that’s brighter than the horrible OEM.

I have a 2019 off road and bought LED from Amazon awhile back no issues but after researching I found that some halogens just perform better due to that’s what it’s made for

total noob here so any recommendations on a bulb I’d appreciate

just purchased some phillips H11 xtreme pro vision 150 off Amazon to try.

 

Try Lasfit. I use them and they’re great.

 

I was on the fence for LEDs vs HID but I ended up purchasing Alpharex lights. I haven't installed them but if those suck then I'm going with OEM LED lights with an adapter harness.

I had an OEM bulb burn out so I went with Silverstar Ultras. They're brighter for sure.

 

Reason for just a bulb install is that it will get you the output you want at 1/7 the price of Chinese headlamps. Lots of posts on this on here.

 

H9 conversion is the easiest way to get better output while maintaining the proper projection.

Otherwise, I originally went with Osram nightbreakers and was pretty happy with them.

 

I got SS3 fog light. It's crazy bright. try it gơod for both world

 

SS3 fogs are great fog lights, but don't solve the headlight issue.

 

hey @rageandlove did you ever snag some headlights? i know you were on the hunt a while back.

 

Sightly off topic, but do all the passenger side headlights in the '19 4Runner beam to the far right? My right-side is virtually useless for straight on illumination. I've read that there are no horizontal adjustments for the headlights, just vertical. Am I missing something?

Update: I found that some idiot did not install the bulb correctly. One tab on the socket did not engage the receptacle correctly so the bulb was not beaming head-on. I reinstalled the bulb ensuring all three tabs engaged the receptacle. The beam is now illuminating the road and not to the right.

 

Definitely use H9's for the low beams. Easy retrofit and you will get very good illumination, much better than stock H11's. You can upgrade the 9005 high beams also (with 9011's), but in my experience they will burn out easily if you use your DRL's on a regular basis.

 

Do the H9’s produce a significant amount of extra heat compared to the stock H11’s?

My concern would be increased amperage and heat damage to the lens.

Agreed. I have been running these for 3 years with no issues. I believe people have taken temperature measurements at the lens and found no significantly higher heat.
