I have a 2022 Toyota 4runner sr5, With the dual color black and grey cloth seat. I do not care if it’s leather or not my complaint is, the black parts that big u is super stiff, while the grey parts are soft. The seat is very uncomfortable due to this, and it’s just uncomfortable over all from having leg to low back pain. I spoke to someone in katzkin and he asked me if the sr5 premium uses the same foam because if they do the issue might be fixed with just changing the material where the material can be what’s causing the discomfort and stiffness. I sat in the sr5 premium and it’s super soft even the parts that hold you, also feels almost wider. I even considered looking for sr5 premium or limited used seats online with no luck. Has anyone here changed the cloth with Katzkins where you noticed it being more comfortable and softer?

I have used Katzkins in the past... Tough leather. Would set you back at least $1500.
There are aftermarket cushions.. you can try first....

This is interesting do you guys think the softex is more comfortable in a ORP?

I am assuming the OR non ORP has same cloth seats at the SR5?

This is my first post, and not only am I new to the group, but also new to 4runners. It is not my first Toyota product, I had a 2005 Sequoia, and my wife has a 2022 Highlander. I have the 2017 SR5. My wife hated the passenger seat from the day we picked it up. Before we got ten miles from the dealership, she was already on her phone looking for a seat cushion. We found one on Amazon, had heat, massage, and supported her back side along with her back. Something you might want to consider, too, I had one of those old bead cushions that I had for my office chair that I put on the driver's seat; no clue if it helps or not, but I will say its more neutral feeling, not hard or soft, it is just there to be sat on. "Snailax Massage Seat Cushion with Heat - Extra Memory Foam Support Pad in Neck and Lumbar" that’s the one that I picked and she likes it, I used it once on a 140-mile drive, wasn’t bad but kind of odd too. I am not used to my seat being warm or vibrating. After two hours of driving and sitting on it, when I stopped, my back didn’t hurt. It might be worth a look.

I have SR5 Premium, so I do have softex seats. But I just put in these seat risers that raise the front of the seat. More support under your thighs and it sits you farther back in the seat. I love them. No idea if this would solve your problem, but might be worth trying. Good luck.

Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
I found seat jackers to be the most effective solution. I tried a lot of different things.

First off, Katzkin leather is the bomb. I’ve had it on an F-150, a RAV-4 and a CRV. Nothing else has ever been close to Katzkin in comfort, looks and long term durability. That said, the seats in my SR5 Premium were uncomfortable from the get go. I put Seat Jackers in and that problem went away. They are worth every cent and literally take 20 minutes to install.
