Has anyone tried NHOU's "Boss Wax" Undercoat?

Hi all. Recent 2023 SR5 owner here. I bought the vehicle a few weeks ago with 3.5k miles on it and am looking into getting an undercoat as I live in MA and make frequent trips up to VT, NH, and ME in the winter to ski.

I was planning to go the NHOU route for the undercoat, but when I called the shop, the tech told me about this newer NHOU product called "Boss Wax," marketed as a permanent undercoating for new vehicles with a lifetime transferrable warranty and that dries solid. He said that my vehicle would likely qualify. Does anybody have experience with this? I guess it has been around for 7-8 years but I can hardly find any mention of it in forums, Reddit, Youtube, etc. He said that they spray the exterior with Boss Wax but still spray all cavities, moving parts, etc. with the regular NHOU clear oil.

The Boss Wax would cost $1400 and require inspections/touch-ups every 2 years for ~$100. The regular NHOU application would cost $325 and require annual re-applications. I'd be happy to DYI an annual application in future years if it's easy, I just don't have time or a designated parking area to do it myself this season.

Any experience/advice is much appreciated. Thanks!

I'm not familiar with the NHOU Boss Wax product, but I have been very happy with the NHOU clear oil. I had it done by a licensed applicator (was $230 or so).

Sounds good on paper and less messy but still prefer oil based undercoatings.

This is a new product so not sure how it performs….but I’d be skeptical. Unlike an oil based coating, moisture gets between the hard wax and metal (from chips, cracks, missed application, etc) and you’ll just accelerate rust.

Also skeptical how well it would seep and coat inside frame rails (most important imo), body cavities, and other tight spaces.

Personally went with Krown and was impressed with their application and historical results. Given the track record of previous hard coatings, this wax one wouldn’t tempt me until I see a decade+ of outstanding results.
