Who cares? This never shows everything anyway.
    Whazzzzzzup biznatches?

But seriously, I figured I'd stop by and make a yo momma joke like old times.

I still kind of hate my 4Runner, but I've been finding it a bit more palatable as of late. I finally cracked the code of my extreme discomfort with the seat, at least for the most part. I had to go extremely aggressive with leaning back. Since the wheel doesn't telescope out very far, that means I have to have my feet a lot closer to the pedals than I'd prefer. That's not the most comfortable thing in the world, but at least my tuchas doesn't need a heating pad after a few hours of driving. I've done multiple trips of two hours or more, and I've been pretty much fine afterwards. I figure I'll be fine with a longer trip, too.

I finally got deep into my 4Runner's rear end (giggity) and fixed the stupid backup camera situation. The dealer couldn't fix it, but I did. While I was in there, I also replaced a broken speaker. To be fair to Toyota, the speaker was probably my fault from slamming the trunk shut harder than I slammed yo momma in bed last night. Okay, no more yo momma jokes.

Ever since these fixes, I've found the 4Runner to be... okay. I still don't really love the thing. I still think it's a fat, fat momma that's too bloated for its own good. The next generation isn't very compelling, too. If I could do it all over again, I'd probably get a cheap Mazda CX30 and a cheap Mazda Miata. In my dreams, I'd Toyota swap a Jeep Liberty. One thing that I'm interested in for the future is a head unit that comes up higher. I didn't understand why they were doing that until earlier this year when I got my first bifocals. I can't see my GPS or whatever nearly as well as I used to, at least without turning my head way more than I'd prefer. That's one of the things that appeals to me about the CX30. Even if the screen's smaller, it's higher. I could work with that. And the CX30 would still get me to the trails that I like going to.

But I'm kind of knee deep into the 4Runner. I bought it because I planned to keep it for the long haul. I guess I'm in it for the long haul. I'm kind of praying that 2025 4Runners (have they even come out yet?) have problems out the butt within the next month or so which would bolster trade in values of the 5th gen. Then maybe I'd be able to justify trading it in and recouping some money before doing the big 50,000 mile maintenance.

In the meantime, I'm coexisting with the stupid thing. I don't really find it attractive anymore. It's kind of like I'm Al Bundy and it's Peggy Bundy. I don't really care to do much with it. I actually took off the LFD crossbars and the stuff I had on top of them. They were acting like sails in windy weather. I didn't like that. I also found the mounting hardware kind of unimpressive and potentially unsafe. I'm thinking about selling them. I still have the sliders. (What brand were they again? Oh, who cares?) I sometimes think about removing them. They don't really add much for me. I'm not rock crawling. If I need to get to the roof to clean off snow, I can use a step attachment for a tire, or I could just climb on top of the tire like I did the other day. I still like my Rago molle panels and shelf. If I keep the thing in the long run, I might finally do the rear diff breather mod, just because I can. I'm still Fluid Filming the frame every year. Things still look nice underneath.

It's been nice to take a step back from being an enthusiast, or trying to be, for this 4Runner. I don't miss getting into stupid arguments and being so frustrated that I become a stupid troll. My relationship with Akio Toyoda has cooled as of late. I do appreciate that the 4Runner put me on the path towards discovering hiking trails and hobby grade RC trucks. That's something that I still enjoy to do a whole lot. My old Trailrunner has actually spent half a year in disrepair because I have my 2021 Bronco and now a newer bootleg Jeep Wrangler to keep me truckin' on the trails on the weekend. I'm building a 1979 Bronco out of parts, too. I'm hoping to get it completed after Christmas. I'll fix the Trailrunner eventually, but it certainly has been not getting the attention you'd expect of a 4Runner owner. If I do ditch the real 4Runner and get a CX30, I'll definitely still enjoy my hobby grade RC trucks and hiking with them.

In the summer, rolling down all of the windows, including the rear window, and cruising around town is still the best experience. It becomes difficult to get rid of the 4Runner in the summer. But then again, if I had a cheap CX30 and a cheap Miata, I could enjoy the Miata in the summer...

Anyway, Merry Christmas, Happy Hanukkah, Joyous Kwanzaa, have a great whatever else I'm forgetting, and word to yo momma!

I ran out of TP earlier and had to holler for an assist, that took less time than reading this post, and I didn’t read the post

Was there a joke in there somewhere?

Based on the sheer size of that post, the number of words used, I have to think that someone is compensating for a lack of size somewhere else. What does yo-yo mama think of that?

Ray! So nice to hear from you! Still struggling with the Tourette’s I see. Maybe ask your psychiatrist to boost your Rx, buddy. Wishing you a Merry Christmas and a better new year.

And what's your version of a bootleg Jeep Wrangler?
If it's a JK or newer, I agree.
