Bought my 5th Gen 4Runner new in 2017. Best decision I've ever made. I'm a Goalie mom, a Karate mom, a Speed Skating mom and for the spring a Baseball mom. My 4Runner holds everything and goes everywhere. It has over 150K km and I've replaced the windshield twice. My mechanic loved my car so much that he went out and brought one of his own.

I live in Ottawa, Canada. Salt and Calcium are used on the roads, and the wet, snowy, windy, humid temperatures are a way of life.

Recently I've had troubles with the rear window mechanism and rear hatch not releasing. I suspect rust IN the door. I'll need advise to clean it up and keep everything working properly. I have no intention of replacing this vehicles. For now, I'll read and research.

Welcome wish I knew how to advise you on the window/latches. My Dad is from Ottawa so a special place to me. How is the frame of your 4Runner holding up given the salt and calcium--not to take away from other posters on your question just curious after years how the frame is?
