Funny story. Was heading out to a trail ride with my off road group today. On the turn off to the trails there was road construction next to the entrance. We'll somehow a tourist in a mini van got in our line and thought we were going on a detour from the main road and followed the jeep in front of me in. Well they got about 100 feet in and got stuck with in like 20 seconds. We tried digging, pushing, and traction boards to no avail. Finally someone went way under and hooked my soft shackle to an iffy random part of the mini van. I winched them out and it was dragging my 4runner a bit. Turns out they were super high centered on a rock bulge and our pushing was making it worse. We got em out though. They were holding up like 15 rigs in the group. Poor tourists in a rental with zero recovery points. Screenshot_20240127_230418.jpg

Same thing happened to me the other day. I shoveled myself out, and winched a Grand Cherokee out snow on the trail.

The recovery gear you have is always most useful to the rest of the group. Good you were able to help

By the way, that Chrysler is a great minivan, best seller of the segment.

We had like 5 guys pushing on it and the hood started to bend so we stopped. The people in the mini we pretty shook. We had to calm them down a bit and tell them not to worry we would definitely get them out and back on the road. They seemed very confused, scared until we took a quick second and calmed, assured them. I don't think they had ever even been in woods before.
